A Challenge for for The EscapeCity Team :
In November we received an inquiry from the Krakow Christmas Market organizers about creating an unusual escape room-style attraction to enhance their event. . . After a detailed analysis and discussion, we decided that this was a perfect opportunity to showcased our mobile escape room – the Krakow Riddle Chest – to a broader audience. The project required fine-tuning several elements to maximize the enjoy for meant visitors to Krakow’s Main Market Square:
- creating entertainment suitable for all age groups,
- optimizing gameplay time to accommodate all fair visitors, so that each visitor to the event could try their hand at it,
- designing an open, approachable format that anyone could join and play without restraint.
Our goal was to create an unforgettable experience that combines fun with learning interesting facts about Kraków’s history and culture.
CHRISTMAS FAIR IN CRACOW WITH CRACOW RIDDLE CHEST
LOGISTICS:
Driven by the idea of participating in the Christmas Market, we showcased our regional product, the Krakow Riddle Chest. The mobility of the Krakow Riddle Chest and its relatively short solve time made it ideal for the Krakow Christmas Market setting. . Its versatility appealed to both locals and tourists, offering a unique adventure for everyone.
SCENARIO AND RIDDLES:
The Krakow Riddle Chest contains carefully designed puzzles that delight players of all experience levels. The well-thought-out design of the challenges the young adventurers and experienced players have found it a source of surprising fun. One of the Chest’s greatest strengths is its strong connection to the tradition of the dragon city. This perfect blend of education and entertainment aligned beautifully, with the Christmas Market’s celebration of Krakow’s local character and traditions.
THE LIVE STAGE PERFORMANCE WITH THE KRAKOW RIDDLE CHEST
The Krakow Riddle Chest took center stage in Krakow’s Main Square twice—on December 11 and 18, 2024. Initially, participants showed some hesitation about tackling puzzles on stage. However, after just a few minutes, when the first teams triumphantly solved the chest, interest exceeded our expectations. We were thrilled to see a queue of eager participants ready to take on the challenge. The competing teams varied from two to four people and represented incredible diversity—from families with children to experienced puzzle enthusiasts from Poland and abroad. Remarkably, every group successfully solved all the puzzles. In addition to entertainment, participants received small gifts in the form of discount coupons for our games and tasty fudges. The atmosphere buzzed with positive energy, and there was no shortage of volunteers.
CHRISTMAS FAIR IN CRACOW PERFORMANCE ON STAGE WITH A CHEST OF RIDDLES – EFFECTS AND SUMMARY
Despite challenging weather during our first appearance, the cold temperatures didn’t discourage our brave players. On the contrary, solving puzzles warmed them up, and soon the cold ceased to matter. Each completed challenge brought immense satisfaction and joy at having achieved their goal. For many, this was their first encounter with puzzles in such a unique format; for others, it was a mere formality. Regardless of the level of experience, the game sparked enthusiasm and desire to further explore the world of puzzles. The festive atmosphere floating in the air further added to the uniqueness of the event. We hope that those who did not dare to face our Chest this time, will be first in line next time 😊.
This time spent together in the Main Square will certainly remain in our memories as a unique experience.
