A scenario scented with cinnamon and… trouble

December strikes. Kraków glows with thousands of lights, smelling of mulled wine and gingerbread. But beneath this beautiful facade lies a drama. The central heating at Santa’s factory has failed. Instead of packing gifts, the elves are turning into icicles. If production doesn’t restart within 2 hours, Christmas will be cancelled.

Santa has only one option – he sends an SOS signal to Kraków. It is here, hidden in the alleyways of the Old Town, that the forgotten recipe for the Ancient Potion lies, capable of restoring strength to the frozen elves.

Your team, equipped with the Elven Support Kit, steps into action. Amidst Christmas stalls and carols, you must find hidden ingredients, solve puzzles guarded by Kraków traditions, and send the recipe to the North Pole. Feel the magic you won’t find under the tree!

Briefing (Start)

We meet at the Main Market Square. Our Game Masters (often in elf hats!) divide you into teams and hand out iPads and Christmas Packs.

Field Action

The app guides you through winter Kraków. From the Cloth Hall to charming alleys. Every step is a new puzzle combining architecture with AR magic.

Cooperation and Competition

You see the live scores of other teams. Who will get the potion ingredients first? The competition is fierce, but there is only one goal – to save Christmas!

Strategy: Time or Points?

The harder the task, the more points, but mistakes cost you. You can take hints (for points) so you don’t get stuck in a snowdrift. Your choice: a fast run or a precise solution?

Grand Finale with a Drink

We meet at the finish line to announce if Christmas has been saved. We hand out awards in categories such as “Fastest Elves” and warm up together with a traditional drink.

Thanks to this, international tourist groups visiting Kraków, as well as local residents and tourists, can enjoy this interactive adventure.

You meet our Game Masters in shirts with the Gamescape / Escapecity logo at Mariacki Place (Plac Mariacki) at the agreed time. Remember that we wait max. up to 15 minutes from the start time, and “latecomers” join their teams already in the city. Our Game Masters welcome participants, make a random division into groups (unless you prefer otherwise – see “Team Division” info). Then they hand you the necessary equipment: iPads and the Christmas Player Pack, and explain the rules of the fun. In a moment, you set off on a tourist route full of puzzles around the Main Market Square and the atmospheric streets of the Old Town.

To enjoy the game, monuments, and a walk in good company around the Old Town, we recommend comfortable, warm shoes, warm clothing, a hat, gloves, and… a smile.😊

To use a hint during the Kraków city game, just click on the question mark icon that appears on the iPad screen throughout the game.

Up to 60 people can play our Christmas game simultaneously. Do you have a larger group? No problem – we will propose splitting a larger team, e.g., 120 people, into several of our engaging city games. This makes playing the city game more comfortable for such a large group, increases the immersion of participants, and gives you even more to talk about afterward.

Our modern system will not let you get lost. The application will guide you step by step through each puzzle, and the interactive map will indicate exactly where you are. And throughout the game, the Game Master is on standby at +48 664 999 189.

After solving the last puzzle, the game leads to the finish line, where the Game Master awaits you. This is also the moment when you return the equipment and the Christmas Player Pack, any prizes prepared by you are handed out, and everyone receives mulled wine (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) or warming tea.

Regardless of the weather, our Christmas City Game is ready for action – all materials and devices are weather-resistant (e.g., snow).

If, despite our readiness and our equipment, you do not want to go out into the field in typical winter weather (blizzard, heavy rain), you can choose the bad weather guarantee.

Just report your desire to use the bad weather guarantee, i.e., plan “B”, 24 hours before the planned game. It works only with upfront payment for the event.

Plan “B” is:

  • A special, 1.5-hour indoor Christmas game “Bad Santa AR”, which is a portable mobile escape room.
  • Equipment: same as in the standard city game formula, i.e., iPads and appropriate Christmas props.
  • Place: Kraków, conference room on the Client’s side (in the office, hotel, or we can help find it with our partners).
  • The number of participants and teams is the same as planned for the Christmas city game.
